The Nonprofit Alliance of Bermuda’s mission is to strengthen and unify nonprofits to meet the needs of Bermuda’s communities. NAB is dedicated to strengthening, unifying, and championing nonprofits in Bermuda. We do this by providing training and capacity building services, offering certification and accreditation, facilitating collaboration and network building, and coordinating access to information and resources. We work to improve the community’s perceptions of and engagement with nonprofits by advocating for a more sustainable nonprofit sector. This compact outlines our commitment to how we work with our members, and the values and ethics we uphold in our service delivery. As a member-driven alliance, NAB commits to:

  • Integrity and Transparency: Operate with honesty, accountability, and openness in all communications and activities.
  • Capacity Building and Advocacy: Provide resources, training, and a collective voice that advances the nonprofit sector.
  • Inclusive Collaboration: Foster opportunities for connection, knowledge sharing, and collective action that are accessible and inclusive.
  • Responsiveness and Accountability: Listen to members’ needs, adapt programming, and report back on outcomes and progress
  • Respect and Dignity – valuing the worth of every individual and every nonprofit organisation.
  • Privacy and Confidentiality – safeguarding sensitive information appropriately.
  • Voice and Participation – encouraging feedback and dialogue, and considering diverse perspectives.
  • Equity and Inclusion – rejecting discrimination and promoting fairness across all activities.
  • Constructive Accountability – addressing concerns openly, fairly, and with a focus on solutions.

Complaints Procedures

Should you need to file a complaint regarding any Nonprofit Alliance staff, contractor or Board member, you should direct the grievance to the Executive Director or, if it involves the Executive Director, to the Chair of the Board of Directors within one month of the occurrence of the grievance. If the grievance remains unresolved, you may appeal to the Board of Directors. In cases of alleged sexual harassment or physical threats, you have the right to complain directly to the Chair of the Board of Directors for a final determination. Nonprofit Alliance has an Anti-Harassment Policy to further guide this process.
