The Nonprofit Alliance offers certification and accreditation to assess and designate standards of excellence using internationally validated standards of best practice in partnership with the Council on Accreditation (COA)’s Standards of Excellence (“the Standards”).

This is currently available to local nonprofits and government social services. There are two tracks of designation: certification and accreditation, which are both based on the ability to demonstrate best practices captured in the Certification Standards and the Accreditation Standards.

The Nonprofit Alliance Standards Committee (NASC), a subcommittee of the Nonprofit Alliance Board, is responsible for approving the certification and accreditation designations; thus, organisations become “Certified” or “Accredited” once they have successfully completed the self-assessment and review process.
